Today was GOOD, very good. Started off w/ a lil' breakfast get-together for Mark, since he's goin to Berk for summer school (btw, g'luck mark!!!). IHOP pancakes r pretty good, hence the name. Afterwards mark and i got interviewed for James' and Don's video thingy, good stuff. Afterwards, James, Pranav and i went to cyberworld to get our cs fix (me more than any1, hehe). Shuan and Gary came along shortly after to join the fray. Man, i play too much cs... or not enough... hehe. Then, it was onto Kenny's house for some good food. Maybe a little too good... cumen always does that to me. After a good meal, y not let ur stomach settle over a lil' session of sc, on Kenny's snazzy new Toshiba laptop. Its a beauty, oh yea. Let's not forget about maintainin' the GUNNNNSSS either (ie weight trainin). I think i have to watch myself... im gettin a little more lazy than i would like to be. Thats when i went home, jus in time b4 11:30....
The day became so good it was almost heart-wrenching...
If u read some of my posts, u kno its about World Cup action, the Korea vs Spain game was on jus a few hrs ago. It was intense... especially if ur a guy like me. So many chances for both sides, and even more dangerous looks on the goal on the part of Spain. Debateable offside calls were made w/ Spain in pursuit of a goal... but they were very much substanciated. Also... so many non-calls. Not totally biased, mind u. Some of those were total fouls, some even worthy of a yellow, and they were jus brushed off. But, Korea did get some breaks too. Great teams are hardened through adversity, blessed by luck, and possessed by tremendous will. Throughout that awful muggy weather, Korea in many instances proved that they had more of that drive. And, cruel as it is, penalty kicks decided the outcome. A pretty familiar situation for Spain... but lucky for me and a whole nation of fans... not the same ending. BAM.. BAM... BAM... 3 straight goals for each team. Then, Mr. Hero-Against-Italy Ahn Jung Hwan rose the stakes w/ a fourth straight. Spain's turn. A shot to the right, and an extended hand which manages to knock it away. Goalkeeper Lee saved the hopes of team Korea throughout the grueling match, and helped keep it alive. The last goal was sweet... i think every1 wearing a red-shirt in that stadium exhaled w/ an explosion of joyous celebration. Again, im proud of u team Korea, history continues.
COREA!!! COREA!!! COREA!!! COREA!!!!
Good day... very good day. More to come later.

Time to recap the day, cause i actually did something today, hehe. Its been a long time since i played basketball, or c the d-bar crew, so y not do both at the same time, ehh? So, i meet up w/ mark, john paul, james g and brian to play some b-ball at Pantera Park. Its been awhile since i played, but nonetheless fun. And even tho there were some breezes, very refreshin breezes, it was still relatively hot due to that beating sun. I soon found out that spf 35 coppertone should be ur best friend during that time, cause 2-3 hrs playing b-ball in direct sunlight did a number on my skin. From the neck up, i look like a regular cherry tomato. I'll remember to bring some next time, but it was worth it. After a quick shower, i met up w/ the same guys to go to the Hat. Kyle and Gerald joined up w/ us at the Hat, it was good stuff. Man, i forgot how funny gerald and john paul are... those guys crack me up. Well, later on we head on over to the Edwards at Brea to watch The Bourne Identity. I recommend it, it was a pretty good movie. Had some pretty snazzy scenes too. The 1st big fight scene w/ a black ops operative. Blasting an smg through the window, coming at ya hard w/ a knife, and all u have is a ballpt pen. No prob, jus stick it to him. Literally. Owww. After awhile, another good scene, this time a car chase. Very nice. Next time u c a mini, dont let its small size fool ya... haha. A short while after that, a little sniper battle ensues in the snowy woods. Armed w/ a long double-barrel shotgun w/ double d batteries (they were shells... but they looked so much like batteries...), bourne shoots a pile of oil barrels? (howd they get there?) to cloud the sniper's view. Retreating into a long grass field, the sniper waits... but bourne uses his head. Blasting a shot into the air, he distracts his foe w/ the sound of frightened birds. Then, BLAM, one-two and the guy is down. Then, the last scene were everything comes into place, and bourne has to get the hell out of there. He gets a gun from one heavyset guy, knocks him down, and shoots another waiting outside, holding the gun UPSIDE DOWN! (oOOOHH!). Another one blasts automatic fire from below the loooong stairway, then makes his way up to finish up bourne. Whats an operative on the run to do? Guy w/ an automatic gunning for u, another dead heavyset guy u dispatched beforehand, and a loooong way down. Thats easy... u ride the heavyset guy down the loooong corridor of stairs, shooting the other guy coming up for ya in the head, and breaking ur fall w/ the heavyset guy. That simple, hahaha. Well, it was pretty good. By this time, im a little tired, but not tired enough. Gotta work out those... GUNNNNSSS! oh yea baby!!! That pretty much sums it up for today. All in all, a good day, im happy, yay. More to come later, catch ya later yall.

It was a good day to wake up early.... but i didnt wake up early enough, had to catch the replay, heh. When history beckons, u have to answer the call, even if it means losing a little sleep, hehe. I woke up to the sound of my mom and dad cheering, and i knew exactly what it was. The unthinkable has happened today, a major, major upset. Korea bested Italy, the traditional football powerhouse, 2-1 in double overtime. A finish fit for Hollywood. Well, heres my take on the whole historic event. The 1st half was pretty brutal, each team dealt some nasty fouls. At some times, the match looked more like wrestling than football. And the half was replete with real good looks at the goal. 4th minute, Korea is granted a penalty kick taken by Ahn Jung Hwan, blocked with vigor by the Italian goalkeeper Buffon. 12th minute, foward Christian Vieri heads in a goal from a corner kick. And from then on, things looked reaall grim for Korea. Missed goal chances by each of the teams, especially by Ahn, put every1 on edge. Which leads into the 2nd half, which became even more desperate and dangerous for Korea. 6 odd realllyyyy good goal chances for Italy, the majority by Mr. Vieri, were missed and blocked. Korea seemed doomed from this pt on... but then the 88th minute rolled around. Seol Ki Hyeon comes up with the loose ball and drives it away from the wall of Buffon. Its a wonder that a whole nation can hold its breath for so long. Thus came the double overtime periods, again replete with goal chances. What better way to end this game than with a little redemption. Ahn Jung Hwan heads in a beauty from nowhere, a pure "GOL DE ORO", and all Italy could do was watch as their stay in Korea was abrubtly cut short. Running toward the corner post, kissing his wedding ring, Ahn is mobbed by his teammates while cameras flash all around him. Picture perfect finish. Carried by a feverant imperative on the part of the whole nation, donning their red shirts and massed in a unified cheer, Korea finds itself in the round of 8. Unprecedented indeed. One of the 1st things that i thought to myself as the red filled the streets was an article i read in the UCLA school newspaper when i visited Michelle a couple weeks back. The sports editor predicted that Korea would be the 1st host nation to fail to advance to the 2nd round, due to their "dirty play". Well sports editor, u were wrong, very wrong. EAT IT!!!!!
I'm proud of all these guys, they stepped it up, they finished despite what seemed to be fate. Sometimes, u can change ur fate.... So, to wrap up, ill quote one football sportscaster from univision:
"COREA!!!!! COREA!!!!! COREA!!!!! COREA!!!!!! COREA!!!!!"
Congrats guys. More to come later.

Recap of the past 2 days, pretty much a crash, burn, and another crash, hehe. Was goin to post yesterday, but i had jus enough consciousness to fall asleep, so here it is. Went to Six Flags with Kenny and Kirk, and has it been awhile, was really looking foward to it. Especially to those 2 new rides, oh how i waited... but to no avail. The X and Deja Vu were closed for the day... aaaaaaargghhhhh!!!! But, its all good, another time. For the time being, we put our fast passes to good use (those things r invaluable, its a good feeling to jus go to a ride... and ride it 20 min later, instead of 3 hrs...) Once on the Viper, a goodie oldie, and once on Riddlers Revenge (it was my 1st time.... and did those twists hurt, ooof). Two tickets left, but no X or Deja Vu... how bout twice on the Goliath? Sounds good to me, and thats jus what we did. Slight blackout and dizziness aside, we had a good time. But, by the time that we left the park, i found myself sunburned on one side??? of my neck, and around my eyes. Ehh, i needed some color anyway, Berk weather can make ya shockingly pale. By the time we left the park, it was dinner time. Sure enough, there was an El Torito. Good fajitas... but sadly i wasnt able to finish all mine, thanks to an interesting conversation between Kenny and Kirk. And thats all ill say about it, it was jus plain weird... and mysteriously hilarious. Hey, the day cant be over yet, right? Oh yea baby, it cant be over, James' and Don's party was still goin on. Tooooooo seeeexxxyyyyyy baby, hehe. Got to meet some good friends yet again, and yea, sappy as it is, im blessed to be around these kinda ppl, quirks and all. Its a shame that the b-ball didnt fall through, but ehh, its all good. Although not as much was planned this time around, it was still good. My night ended w/ Triumph the Dog... one hilarious sock puppet, oh yea. My head slowly sinking into the pillow, i jus realized how tired i still was. And even now, after entertaining some kids that came over, i still am. Ehh, its a good kinda tired tho... im glad. Well, hope every1 had a good fathers day. Stay tuned now, cause theres more to come soon.
